Goa International Airport is situated in Dabolim. It’s the only airport in Goa which is why it’s one of the busiest airports in India. The airport was built in 1955 by the Portuguese State of India. Goa was a colonial state of the Portuguese Empire founded six years after the discovery of a sea route to the Indian subcontinent by the Kingdom of Portugal. In 1962, the airport was handed over to the Indian Government.
The airport is around 30 km away from the capital city Panjim. The airport has one terminal.
