Surat International Airport Information
Surat Airport is the second busiest airport in Gujarat. At number one it’s Ahmedabad Airport. The airport was initially developed by the Gujarat State Government and was operated by regional airlines Vayudoot and Gujarat Airways. In 2003, the airport was handed over to the Airport Authority of India and in 2007, the commercial flights at the airport began again. The airport is located around 20 km away from the city center and has been spread over 770 acres.

The terminal at Surat airport manages domestic and international flights. There are two baggage carousels and one baggage X-Ray machine, elevators and a seating lounge.
The expansion work of the terminal building is underway and it is expected to be completed by March 2022. With the expansion, the airport will be capable of handling more passengers during peak hours.
